Put a Super ATV flip up windshield on my Z 800 trail, and a rear view mirror.

Put a rear windshield on today and took the buggy for a spin. WOW, what a difference. Front and rear windshields are really worth the money.

Yep. I think I ordered my rear windshield after the very first ride with the front. It's a must-have for sure.

Raised and moved back the driver seat 1". Doesn't sound like much but it did make a nice difference.

Changed the oil, filter and plug on my new to me 2018 Cforce 400.  Re-routed the winch wiring that was done poorly (not factory), and cleaned her up!   Ordered some black widow ramps to get her into the truck!    Ordered a set of hand guards too.

I've posted this on the various facebook groups, but thought I'd add here for those that don't see it there.  Made my own quick disconnect sway bar links with 10mm heim joints.  Also put together my wheels and tires after having the beadlock rings powder coated.  32*10*14 Arisun Aftershocks on 14*8 (0 offset) Raceline beadlocks.

I finally had a day to myself so I could pull my CForce 400 into the garage and install some accessories.  I started with a mirror kit, which I ordered from the CFMOTO USA Parts website.  The right side mirror had a spot already tapped to screw the mirror in.  The left side required removal of the grip (which I was going to take off anyway so I could install heated grips) and the left-side switch housing.  The mirrors make a nice addition to the ATV and as a Harley-Davidson rider, I was lost without mirrors.  I purchased a set of heated grips (Raider brand) from our local FleetFarm.  I tapped power from the 12-volt accessory, which is a key-switched power source.  It took me about three hours because I had to remove an inner panel under the front left wheel housing.  I finally got everything finished.  Fired the ATV up and in about 30 seconds, I had nice, warm grips.  It was "fun" trying to remove the hood so I could run some wires.  Sure looks easier on YouTube than in person.  After about 15 minutes, I finally figured it out.  I also added a rubber block around the winch hook so the hook doesn't bang into the cable guides.  About a five-minute installation.  Also added a three-in-one receiver hitch and it fits perfect.  Ordered some spare parts for the Moose plow as well (skid shoes and mounting pins).

I was impressed with CFMOTO USA Parts.  I placed my order late Tuesday evening and everything was delivered by Friday.  I ordered the Moose plow parts from Dennis Kirk and they were here the next day.  I do live in Minnesota so I guess next-day shipping is pretty easy.  Been very pleased with Dennis Kirk over the years and they are about 75 miles from my location.  Have to give a shout-out (I am biased because it's a Minnesota business).

Expecting upwards of a foot of snow on Monday/Tuesday so I am looking forward to trying the plow out with more than just three or four inches!

2017 Z800 - changed the coolant.

I have read for years of people having trouble after changing their coolant on these machines and I did not understand until I saw some youtube videos on how NOT to change your coolant on these machines.
For instance, Red Neck garage has a video where he disconnects a couple of hoses which is completely unnecessary, more difficult, and messy.

By the book:

Loosen the coolant drain plug at the bottom of the water pump and let it leak out.
When it's done draining, remove the plug and jack up the front end a few inches.
When the draining stops, put the plug back in, and fill with distilled water to flush.
Run the engine for a few minutes until the engine warms up or the fan goes on.
Repeat the drain procedure.
Now, the plug has a copper washer. If that washer has any deformities, either sand it flat or replace it.
Torque the plug into place (89 inch/pounds).
Fill with 3.1 quarts of your choice of coolant (50/50).
Start the motor and let the system burp.
Top off the radiator, put the cap on, and add some coolant to the overflow bottle.
I did not have to use the vent screws on the heads to let the air out.

Drop the front end and take it for a ride!

I used Zerex G05 (Gold/Yellow color), a HOAT coolant (with silicates) for aluminum engines/radiators.

Prestone OAT coolants are fine as well as most modern coolants, but they lack silicates. Avoid IAT coolants, which are usually green in color, and what came from the factory. While they have silicates, they don't have the protection longevity of modern coolants.

Working on getting the wife's z600 a little more trail/road ready.  Repaired tail light, clock set button, rusty seat belt clasps and air intake box.  Tidied up wiring and removed any old/excess.  Replaced engine oil, front and rear gearbox fluid, coolant and brake fluid.  New AMS Swamp Fox tires, new winch and synthetic rope, turn signal kit, some overhead storage, set of light whips that also act as additional turn signal and brake lights, fire extinguisher quick release mount, some storage trunk tie downs and a UTV cover.  Full enclosure from 3 Star Industries and a 4 speaker Boss sound bar are still on their way.

Just bought a used 2020 CForce 500.. First thing I do with any machine is immediately rip out the metal winch cable and replace with synthetic rope - It only took me one short ride to convince me to disable the damnable shift guard that's activated by the foot brake so I did that too. I suppose I get why its there but cripes its annoying. It took all of 10 mins to disable it. The machine can now be shifted freely without the rider having to stomping their right foot through the floor board.
