That's just the Crank position sensor. They go bad, the connector gets corroded or the sensor end gets gunk all over it from junk inside the engine. Just pull it and check the end and down inside..then the connector. If all is clean test it per the manual.

thank you for your help, i tested the resistance of the sensor and found it to be good, and also the resistance between the sensor and ecu, i now think its a bad ecu.

Take it out and inspect the end and the rotor.

took it out and inspected it looks good and got a good one from my father in laws tracker 800, and nothing.
I took my ecu and plugged it into my father in laws tracker 800 and it gave the same code in his machine, but it started up but was revving really high.

You might have a general system power supply low voltage. Start testing from the main fuse out.

Ok so i plugged my fathers ecu into my quad and i get the codes  P0562:Battery low voltage and P0137:Oxygen sensor low voltage of cylinder 1 and 2.
With my ecu plugged in I found out that the quad has spark from both coils, but only  injector 2 is spraying fuel into cylinder, cylinder 1 is dry.  both injectors test ok in resistance. so you say start at main fuse out, would that be the fuse box by battery? I really appreciate your help i hate electrical.

Tesitng the battery is the first step.

We've seen batteries go  in the first year, and these machines are sensitive to low voltage.

Some last much longer (I'm on year 4).

I did a resistance test on voltage regulator and all the negative numbers were between 140-150, the manual says 400-500
and the pos and neg were 603, the manual says 750-850

now im really confused i tested my father in laws voltage regulator and it had the same numbers as mine. then i noticed the pos and neg are reversed from the diagram thats
in the service manual. my battery tested good. i plugged his ecu into my quad and it gave the p0562 code, and when i plugged it back into his tracker it flashed the same code.
Did i screw up his ecu now?

It's not the ECU, and it's not the regulator.

Something on your machine is out of spec, be it a sensor, device, mechanical, or connection, and the ECU sees the problem.

I think Clark's advice to check the quality of the connections, especially at the main fuse (and battery), is a good one. They all must be clean and tight. Also check the grounds, as they have caused problems for some as well. A weak connection in the system can result in low voltage complaints.
