How ever... the HP that it was claimed to have, fell VERY short of the rumors, speculation, and expectations.

The article also points out its a "pumped up version" of the 800, with changes (other than the obvious bore) being the wet-clutch is absent.

Z8 Motor: 62 HP, 53ft/lbs torque
Z10 Motor: 77 HP, 82ft/lbs torque

For $2,400... thats not much of a gain at all considering the chassis is the same and the troublesome air box is the same.

Did your source say why such a shortfall on the HP? What happened to 90+? 77 seems pretty underpowered for a 1000.

That would be a lean mean fast machine! The Wildcat Trail (700 inline twin) has the same HP as the Z8, and I had better take off and top end in the WCT too.

All I said on HP was that it'd be "closer to 100"
82 foot lbs of tq, with no wet clutch,I'm sure you can imagine there goin to move first well.
Telling you anything further seems pointless at this rate.

And yes, they are working on a new long travel chassis,  the HP game should be interesting.
