Range/Gas Mileage
« on: June 13, 2023, 05:56:35 PM »
What is the range of the 7+ gallon tank on the Cforce 1000 Overland?  Does anyone have any real life experience where they have paid attention to mileage?

Ok, I am fully aware that off-road vehicles range/mileage can vary widely, just because of riding style and surface.  For instance, riding my motorcycle in sand drops the mpg by as much as 40%.

I ask, as I am considering adding a Rotopax tank (4 gallons) to the front rack that will give me 11+ gallons and I am trying to figure out my travel range, as I want to really get off the beaten path and explore on multiple camping nights on this dude.

Found a couple of posts on the web that the CFMoto 800 reports about 17-18 miles per gallon.

If the 1000 does the same, it would be about 125-130 miles per tank.

My 2015 Z 800 new was getting 25ish. After all the mods its down to about 21-22. But with 7.4 gallon tank that's still 162 per tank. And for me most rides are 50 miles and less so I stopped taking extra fuel.

Thank you....   150 miles per tank is something I would like.  Some of the big loops in CO, UT, AZ, WY are right around 150 miles.... so an extra gas can is a smart move.

My 800XC is of course a bit smaller.
Ive ran it mostly hard pack in 2x4 and gotten around 60 miles on a hair over 2 gallons.
I ran about 80 miles run day, mountain roads, pretty good pace and got 80 on about 3 gallons in bone drenching rain . .
running hard, just mostly in 2 wheel mode.
I average if in 4 wheel a good bit about 40 miles for 2-2.5 gallon usage.
If Im really wheeling though . . meh . . 15 or so.

My first ride was about 30 miles last week and today I put a tick over 60 miles on the CForce 1000.....

90.2 miles
5.4 gallons

16.7 mpg

If I used up the whole tank of 7.3 gallons, I would get 122 miles.

If I add my four gallon Rotopax for a total of 11.3 gallons, my range would be 189 miles.

Just filled up the CForce 1000 and the data was nearly identical to the first tank of gas.

92.4 miles
5.42 gallons

17.05 mpg

Now.. the difference in the first tank (only me riding with nothing on the quad) and the second tank....  The ride yesterday (second tank), was 100% 2-up with the wife, with the side boxes packed and the front, 4 gallon tank filled (30 additional lbs).

I did read some of the UTV 1000 thread on mpg and some of those guys are only getting 10 mpg.... so I guess I should be happy with 17 mpg.   Maybe it will loosen up, break in and hopefully.... I'll get closer to 20 mpg one day soon.

I'm not sure if motor oil has much to do with mpg... but after 30 miles, I dumped the factory fill and poured in Shell Rotella T4 15w40 conventional oil.  Maybe those running 10w30 will get a little better mpg.
