Questions regarding UTV tie downs
« on: November 06, 2022, 02:03:29 PM »
I have a CFMOTO 950 that I will be transporting on a 6'x12' flatbed utility trailer. I plan to use tire basket type straps attached to E-tracks. My question is, what is the best location for the E-Tracks in relation to the tires? Should they be lined up with the centerline of the tire or off to the outside or inside of the tire track? Was wondering if pulling the tire straps to the inside or outside of the tire centerline would be an advantage.

Thanks.

The center of the strap, being the main load holder, should be in the center of the tire.. and that puts the e-track also center tire. The side net/baskets, adjustable or not, will fall into their correct place once tightened. Give it enough to compress the tire some...don't be shy with it.  Make sure the e-track is bolted-down. Not just screwed.
