Plastic Push Pins
« on: October 13, 2016, 08:53:14 PM »
I thought I had come across someone that had posted a place to get the plastic push pins in bulk (bag of 25 or so), but I can't seem to find the post anywhere. So with that being said, where can I order the plastic push pins? Had to pull the fuel pump out of my Z Force because the spout of my gas can broke off when I was filling it and of course fell right into the tank. For the record, if you ever have to pull the fuel pump out of a Z Force 800, you need to remove just about every single freeking push pin on the passenger side of the machine. Out of the 20+ I pulled out I broke probably 5-8 of them.

Get yourself a pair of push pin pliers.  They are worth their weight in gold.

Got a pair of blue point ones but they are for the larger pins and basically just pull up the ends on these small ones. Ordering a pin puller from amazon with the pins...

Pulling the center up is what you want. Once it's up, the pinion should just slide out.

I went to local auto store and purchased 5/16  screw type push pins. Small Phillips head driver is used to  "set" pin and "release" pin.  Pack of 12 about $3.00.
