About 900 miles on mine and 3 oil changes (all by my dealer)
1 break in
2 about 300 miles (needed thermoswitch) so figured WTH do the oil
3 about 700 miles (another thermoswitch) lol again WTH do the oil lol
Found out Rotella T seems to be the oil of choice with these so luckily local Dollar General had a 1 gallon jugs for $15
From what I'm told, this is ideal for wet clutches and it's recommended for the differentials as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Just figured if this is used in all 3 components and recommended I'm not going to argue with something I'm not qualified to argue for or against.
I'm not a chemist or some oil  viscosity guru. Sooooo
Rotella T it is.

Not so sure about the diffs. It might be too light weight. There are plenty of syn diff oils out there and the little bit it takes to fill it, comes out pretty cheap.

No I would not use it for the diff, the diff takes much thicker oil. 90 weight I believe.  Get a synthetic 75W-90 gear oil if you want good stuff in the diff, conventional will work fine too.

75w-90 gear oil being "thicker" than say a 10w-40 engine oil is a pretty common mis-conception, the SAE grading scale is different for gear oils and engine oils. The kinematic viscoscity of a 75w-90 gear oil and a 10w-40 engine oil can be pretty close.

https://bobistheoilguy.com/viscosity-charts/

Viscoscity is only one part of the equation, the additive package for a gear oil is going to be different in most case. On the contrary, many folks successfully run "engine" oil in their differentials.

Has anyone tried using the klotz full synthetic for motorcycles it is compatible with wet clutches.

I've changed oil in a warm rear diff and a warm engine. 75w-90 is a lot thicker and more viscous.

oh.. the SAE viscosity chart must be wrong ;-)

Wouldn't be the first time there is conflicting information from different sources. Call it what you want, I've seen a lot of motor oil and gear oil never seen a motor oil of a 40 weight that is as molasses as a gear oil.  They are different in a bunch of different ways though, I wouldn't use motor oil in a diff.

Data is data...

75w-90 Amsoil gear oil is 102.4 cst @ 40c
10w-40 Amsoil Premium protection is 95.9 cst @ 40c

The difference is negligible...

cst= centistokes is the measurement from which the viscoscity designation comes from.
