I haven't rode in about 3weeks. I went to ride yesterday and had no brakes. Pedal went to the floor. Had no pressure on the pedal and was low on fluid. Checked all the pads all were good. Checked all the lines,no leaks everything was dry. Opened the rear calibers no air. Opened the front calibers and both had air in them. Bled them and all is good now. Sorry we bled the front first. That's when I got pressure back. Then we done the rears. What happened? All pads look about new,all lines are tight and dry no leaks, all calibers are working. 2018 zforce 800ex.

And you are sure there isn't any sign of a leak on the back of the master cylinder..nothing in the boot?.(I think they have a boot). Well it went somewhere. Left open it can evaporate but I'm sure it wasn't. Which one was low? If the front then the front system has a leak somewhere unless there is an internal issue with the master.

We didn't find any leaks anywhere. The rear never lost pressure. Once the front was bled I had brakes. We did the rear just to check. It held all day with no problems. I guess I'll see what happens this weekend when I get back to it.

It's a known issue (at least here in Europe) that cforces leak brake fluid (usually in winter).

It must be gremlins because everything is dry and no puddles on the ground.

So... brake fluid will evaporate eventually. And leave little to no visual residue. I'm sure you know it doesn't take much of a leak to cause a big pedal deference. It could be the reservoir was already low and sucked air on the last ride. This is deferent from your problem but... I had an issue with a Yamaha R6 that would loose front brakes if left sitting for a week or so. If it was used every day there wasn't a problem. But it would somehow get air in the system and need to be bled. I kept checking the bleeder valves and lines, even tied the brakes on for a couple days and nothing, no leaks could be found. After a few months of chasing this ghost leak I finally found a bad seal in the master cylinder. It was sucking air in while sitting untouched. I figured it was the temperature change throughout the day causing a vacuum and sucking air past the worn seal. It never gave me any more trouble after replacing the seal. But what a pain it was tracking it down.
