Check out this leaked photo of the new Yamaha SxS.  1000 class motor, 3 cylinder, 111 HP, and rumored to have a 5-speed manual transmission.  It seems the competition is going to get tough if this can live up to expectations.

Test drove a Wolverine R-Spec once and it rides butter smooth. If this bike can build on what they've done with the R-Spec it will be interesting and definitely throw a monkey wrench into the industry. Which I'm all for.

Would any of you consider jumping ship if this SXS lives up to the hype?

I test drove a Wolverine also at White Knuckle Event that Yamaha sponsors at Brimstone.  They had a pretty nice test route and they're very good machines for a best-of-both worlds sport/utility.  That Yamaha Ultramatic CVT is hard to compete with and their engine braking is spot-on per usual.

My uncle also has one and loves his.   I may consider one in a year or two depending on how they live up to the hype (then I'd have to make the forum more than a brand-specific forum  8)).

Was told it will be a 3 seater like the Viking, that'll be interesting.

To jump ship would be premature. Because come next year, all of the other players will be doing the same.  Wait until it is proven.  That is a lot of weight to miss a gear on a hill....  Not that I miss gears

I don't have any imminent plans to change rides.  It's just a possibility if there's an awesome machine at a competitive price point.  I'm still interested to see what CFMOTO's next move will be; they'll be due for a model upgrade or new model sooner than later.

I'm not a fan of the automotive-style five speed manual.  Given the way people thrash on their SxS's, you'd be putting in a new clutch once a month.  I look at all the mudders, all the rock crawlers, and all the dune bashers, and I'm just not interested in a clutch pedal.

On the other hand, if it was a dual-clutch style with paddle shifters (Honda), then that might be interesting, depending on the weight difference versus a CVT.  I think Polaris has a patent on some sort of a selectable gear ratio system for their CVT's as well, so that you could hold a ratio when you wanted to.  I'd be interested in that as well.

I don't think it's that much of a game changer though, Renli has sold a few machines like that, but they're nowhere near unseating the RZR as king of the offroad game, and to be honest, I think CF Moto is outselling them as well.

Drool all over my face.
I'm in the middle of importing some to Thailand as I type this.
The new CFmoto stuff has not impressed me yet.
The new 1000 motor looks ok. We will see the teathing problems.
I'll be back in the Factory next month to view some new updates,

Cool, but would I want one....I think not. The terrain that I have in my area, it would never be put through the gears. Well maybe 1st and 2nd only!  :P

I agree....if I lived out in the dunes/desert and had wide open space to play on it'd be a different story.  I'm fine with my Midwestern trails though.
