New 2021 C-Force hesitation, idle problem
« on: January 19, 2021, 04:22:36 PM »
I just bought a 2021 C-Force 800 and it does not run right at all.
I have brought it back to the dealer three times now. They adjusted the throttle position sensor, then tightened the throttle cable. Finally they told me that all CFmoto run that way. I know that is not true because I have ridden others that were just fine. That is why after all these years of buying Polaris machines I decided to buy this CFMoto.

Now the problem; When I first start the machine it runs nice with the RPMS slightly elevated. Then after about thirty seconds the RPMS drop and it starts idling "rough". I let it sit and warm up then try to ride. As I first give it throttle it cuts out and hesitates. I "pump" the throttle and it finally takes off. All during my ride if I let off the throttle then get back on it, it hesitates. Every once in a great while under heavy acceleration it will act life a missfire or sputter.

I will admit not knowing much mechanical about these machines but it acts like an old jetted carburetor that has the wrong jets for the elevation. I thought fuel injection solved that problem though.

Any advise that I can get will be greatly appreciated. I like this machine otherwise. I just want it to run right. I have considered taking it to another dealer to check out. After all it is still under warranty. Also I have about 400 miles on it now and the dealer did a 20 hour complete service on it.

For those wondering why I didn't notice this in a test ride. I bought it sight unseen. I ordered it in August and got it in October. I just loaded it at the dealership to bring it home. I told him at initial start that it was running rough. He said give it time to break in. well it's way past that now and still running the same.

Let's get this fixed so that my next purchase is a CFmoto and not another Polaris.

Sounds like low fuel pressure. They have has some problems with their fuel pumps lately. Should be an easy test and fix no matter what. I suggest taking it to a different dealer...one that has some real certified mechanics on staff.
