I have a 2007 cfmoto v5 with a 250cc engine in it. I had sever coolant leak from the weep hole under the water pump as well as the bike was over heating.  I replaced the seals and gaskets in the water pump as well as the impeller.  Got everything back together and its still leaking. Not as fast but its pretty significant. I took the bike for a short drive after burping the radiator and the bike still is overheating. The needle will shoot up past the H on the temperature gauge. I am at a loss here.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   Not sure if it matters but i refilled the radiator with peak 50/50 antifreeze

I know those mechanical seals are very tricky sometimes. Sometimes even if you touch the surface the oils from your finger print..let alone any other type of oil will prevent it from sealing. They also crack easy. On the overheating, have you checked the fan..is it coming on? If not check the thermoswitch. CFM has a long history of them failing.

AS for removing the water pump seal is there any other way besides prying it off by bending it?

I didnt check to see if the fan is coming on.  Which sensor kicks the fan on, the one on the radiator or the one on the block?

The manual...at least the manual for the Z8s..show the punch and other tools required to remove and install the seal parts without damaging them. And yes, for most CFMs the thermostwitch or fan switch is on the radiator.

The seal and the impeller are making great contact. Not sure why its leaking.  I did notice the radiator fan isnt kicking on so i ordered a new switch which i will replace as soon as it gets here.
