So I decided to reclock the clutch to the b2 position, watched the videos appeared to be a simple project but not so much. I bought a big spanner wrench that is adjustable and looks like the one in the manual to take the drive and driven clutches off.long story short I have broken two of those holes off and cannot get the first nut off and have tried everything, strongest impact bp blast and nothing. Wish I wouldn't have messed with it now, I'm assuming I'll have to replace the sheeve plate because it will be unbalanced from the metal breaking at the holes. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry it happened to you. What machine? Most are regular threaded..ie to the left to loosen and most times especially the primary you can do it just with an impact on R. The Secondary is the one that can be a MF'r sometimes. It too is a right-handed thread but is either rusted or some bad-azz thread locker is used. Mine tool a 1000ftlb air impact with it locked in place with a HD home made spanner the first time. They are only torqued to 80 but..

See if you can just hole the primary with a strap wrench and back the retainer out...remember..lefty-loosie...that means from the 12-O clock position to the 11-O clock position to loosen. This is on all 800s.

It's a 15 z800 53 I did the lefty loosie I must need a stronger impact. I'll try the strap idea I guess it's just seized on there I just wouldn't have thought at 1,000 miles it would be that hard to get off. Thanks for the quick reply I'll give it a shot when I'm not ready to push it this damn thing off a cliff.

Yep, get the biggest impact you can find. Take the side plastic off If you have to get a clear shot at the nut. The m6 holes in the pulley might need a tap run through them if buggered up. Of you broke off equal amounts, it should balance out. It is also towards the center and I cant imagine that having too much effect.

I also broke 2 small pieces off of my sheave on the secondary and worried about having a balance issue but after getting it back together I could not feel anything indicating that there is a problem, it is made of aluminum so we are not talking about a great deal of weight imbalance and as Cosmosdan said it is close to the center, after this mishap I trailered my machine to my local auto mechanic who had a nice strong impact and he was able to actually remove the nut without using the damn spanner I had made, I could have saved myself a lot of grief  and worry if I had gone there first, I priced the secondary sheave and it was $441 plus another $100 to get it to Costa Rica, like you I wanted to roll it off of a cliff or into the lake, hopefully a stronger impact will pull it right off for you, my mechanics impact wrench was actually quite small in size which allowed it to have a straight shot to the nut, I hope it turns out as well for you as it did for me.

luckily mine came off with my craftsman cordless impact. If I had a big issue I would have taken it to my friends tire shop he has 3/4 impact and a 1" impact that will flip you over, that probly would do it for anything. They do truck tires.

Awhile back NMK posted some impacts with some impressive specs. I recall the prices were good too. If you already own a compressor, a impact that puts out 900 or better is worth having. I use mine more than I ever thought I would.

Was it this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Drill-Hog-1-2-Air-Impact-Wrench-Air-Tool-Composite-1000-FT-LBS-Lifetime-Warranty-/182600208214?hash=item2a83d20f56:g:-hcAAOSwstxVeSCB
Yeah...that's the one. It works. Takes some air though. I have it and one that puts out 300 or so. This one I keep breaking things though...so I use the other most of the time. This Drill-Hog is the one to use if something gives you trouble though that's for sure. It took it and my compressor jacked-up to 150psi to get my secondary broke loose. But after breaking two breaker bars..one being a Craftsman..I was relieved this worked.

I wonder what that kind of rattling does to what ever the secondary is powering.. Ive seen guys use impact guns on harmonic balance bolts to set the balancer on the crank shaft of new rebuilt engines..

None as long as it doesn't get transmitted any farther so as far as the secondary, it needs to be in neutral and the clutch needs to be held solid.. with a spanner.. with the handle laid against the frame so all the force is focused on the retainer. Removing the primary same practice should be held but it's the one-way bearing that needs to be protected when torqueing. In either case it's best not to use impacts on installation. Best to hold them correctly and use a torque wrench and get the proper torque as per the book. Actually using any impact is hard on any type of retainer ..on or off. That shock and flexing causes them to loose some of their temper over time. Sometimes it unavoidable though such was my case. I don't use one on them any more now.

I ordered one, just to have a last ditch big gun when other means of loosening a fastener have failed.
I get the very odd wheel nut that resists all efforts of the Campbell Hausefield to spin off, leaving it chattering away like a woodpecker, draining my air tank for no progress and making me go and fetch a breaker bar and pipe in order to carry on the work.
Now we'll have an answer for THAT sort of stubbornness.  8)
It'll feel more like winning.  ;)

Just set it on a lower setting when tightening when lugs on a 10mm stud...I snapped two before I could take my finger off the trigger...lol...and pre-start then well too. It won't care if they cross-thread...and you won't feel it.  It does use a lot of air...and fast.
