Might have to re-think clutching
« on: February 29, 2016, 05:11:10 PM »
After installing the new doors and with the steel skid plates/rock sliders the added or extra weight comes up to about 70lbs total. This last ride she really felt it in climbing and general performance. I may have to return my secondary to the B2 position which before all this extra was overkill.. but maybe not now. Always something... :)

Well unlike the first time, now mine would be easy...and most are. But I will do a video when I do it.

Lol..yeah think I'll keep the 22s for a while..at least while I have all that extra steel underneath. I may need to think about the Iron Baltic skids... some day.

I was surprised how much difference it did make...I guess I shouldn't have been...after all...these are just 800cc engines..that's just 51ccs more then my 650lb Brute Force and these weigh stock over 1100lbs. It is nice that the clutches can be adjusted easily.

Come do mine NMK still too much of a chicken $h!t to start pulling engine stuff apart. I'll gladly fab anything but clutch work is still a little scary for me. Video looks easy enough but I know nothing ever goes easy in my case.

Don't let it scare you...it's just parts and common sense. You can stop and take a breather at any time. Really isn't that much to getting to the clutches other then opening up the cab and pulling the cover..which does have a ton of bolts. When I do mine again I'll do a nice video.

The hardest part of doing clutch work on these is taking the plastic apart. It's a lot easier to take the clutch apart. Watch some videos on how to do it and jump in.

I think when I open mine back up to go back to the B2 position I am going to do your shim mod..not as far as you did but about 1/2 as much. I need a little lower starting ratio.
