Just pull the high/low rocker switch out of the dash, turn on the key and lights, with a volt meter determine which lead has 12 volts on it only when in the high position. Then wire the "+" of the LED to it. The ground to the LED just goes to ground. One word of caution though, that extra load may...may be enough to pop a fuse. If it does, just use that wire to trigger a relay instead.

I did the same hooked my light bar to the high beams except I tapped into the harness under the hood storage with male and female spade connectors cause I wasn't sure the fuse would hold it so I wanted to test first and it's been working now for months with no issue's. I also fused the light bar I was affraide a tree branch could rip the cable off the light bar and kill all my light on the trail.  Fyi

My large light bar came with Relay and switch already do the main power and ground went to the battery I like to be able to flip it on without the key on but that's personal preference. My little 13" one for the front I also have battery power I stole from I think the winch positive. It should be such a small draw that it won't really matter on an LED but I didn't want to use the existing light power source

I had also thought about using the winch positive. Where exactly did you connect at

Could you possibly get a pic of how you connected to the harness under the storage area

Actually I think I am mistaken, I linked in to the winch for the winch rocker switch I used. For the LED light bar on the front I found a plug that was unplugged behind the dash under the storage bin under hood. It wasn't hooked to anything and had decent gauge wire I tested for voltage and there was voltage so I clipped the wire and used it for my front light bar. Haven't had any adverse effects, I am assuming it was probably a connector that is there from the factory when they have turn signals and such, which we don't have in the states so they just leave it unplugged.

I suppose that would work too

Thanks everyone for your help. I got it hooked up. I got power from the 12 v accessory plug aka the cigarette lighter and hooked up a rocker switch and relay instead of attaching it to the high beams
