« on: January 05, 2018, 07:12:19 PM »
So the other day I went to get a light bulb for the front headlight it was a basic H1 Sylvania but the guy at the parts store said if I wanted to I could upgrade it to Superstar white bright has anyone had an experience with this since they're like 50 bucks for a set of two

I have a Sylvania Silverstar bulb in my motorcycle headlight.  In my opinion they are brighter and whiter.  For my motorcoocher it was worth it.  I probably wouldn't put them in my CFMoto because the LED light bar renders the headlights almost useless.  My light bar is so bright, one time I turned my light bar on and saw baby Jesus.  With the light bar on you can't even tell if the headlight are on or off.  By now the cost of a light bar is as much as a Silverstar bulb.

I agree...go with the lightbar....less heat and will light up a whole football field with even a 15" bar :)

Yup, I have a 42" LED light bar across the top, 2-4" LEDs on the front bumper, and Alpena "tough pods" LED rock lights.  Only reason I wanted to change the headlights was for looks. The standard headlight do have an advantage though. Some rides are at night and when trying to not disturb the surrounding community I shut everything else off and you can creep through without being overly annoying and not blinding oncoming riders while still being able to see where you're going.
I highly recommend those Alpena tough pods. Those of you that like night rides and may encounter some rocky terrain or  stumps these things are amazing. I've shut everything off and I could've made it home on those alone.
