Well definitely my last contribution this week with hopefully a simple question for the panel.
My engine is a 493 cc CF 188 engine.
An extremely helpful member on here has suggested I should have five gear positions on my gearbox.
Lo, Hi, N, R and Park? A manual i have for the cfmoto 500 utv 03 suggests just Lo, Hi, N,Rev. Its an old engine and abit confused. Does anyone know did the cf188 engine come with either option or is it an age thing? Im just re fitting the gear selecter linkage on this project and its a barsteward adjusting it. The knob has just four positions but the engine has been changed so who knows. Suppose i can just try it and see what happens but as I have found it difficult getting the lever to operate properly to engage both ends of the range its made me wonder. Having said all this Ive just had a flash back to the contacts for the gear signalling unit and think theres only three pins? The reverse is on its own seperate switch. So no park?
