Gear sensor location for 1000 Touring
« on: July 17, 2026, 08:57:18 PM »
Hello
I am on my second CFMoto CForce, a 1000 Touring.  I wanted the rear seat for my wife.  While riding Wednesday, I noticed my gear indicator on my screen started flickering and then went blank.  I checked the linkage and found nothing and then read it was on the steering rack (which made no sense to me.  I saw two terminals there.
So, can anyone show me where the gear sensor is located?
Thank you.  Jon

Gear position switch will always be associated with the gear selector barrow and that will always be on the engine case somewhere close to the shifter shaft...not right next to it but the shaft works the barrow so..somewhere close. It will be the only thing with like a five-wire pigtail going into it. On the 800s..or 500s... this is it:

Thank you for the reply and help.  I am going to check on the cost vs hauling my quad to the dealer for a warranty repair.

I would find and pull the switch, then test each button for continuity.
