Fender extensions
« on: August 07, 2017, 04:28:00 PM »
I didn't like the size and shape of the factory extensions so I decided to make my own, $11 for 2 sheets of 12"x12" ABS and $18 for a heat gun from Amazon, easy project.

Thanks for the idea. I've been thinking that I need to put in some back "mud flaps" on my
Trail.

I got tired of the whole back end including me getting splattered with mud, if you make them I would suggest they protrude 2" past your tire.

Yeah they are needed. I once bought the full set of EX fender flairs for my 53 including the optional rear wings. When I decided the fenders were too goofy-looking and made my own, I kept the rear wings and built them into the new flairs. Amazing how much they catch and keep out of the bed.  Here's a pic.

LOL...no...sorry. I cut the front ones up into little pieces and tossed them. The back ones I cut down and used that way for a while until I made a set for the back. You wouldn't have liked them either...looked funky and always getting caught on stuff. I think I have an old video of them somewhere....yeah here it is:

I was thinking about doing them for a while and then I saw your video and what you made and decided to get off my butt and do something, now I need to throw some mud on them or wash the whole thing so they blend in a little better, I drove through a bunch of mud and puddles and couldn't get them dirty.

NMKawierider,

When you have time could you measure the dust plate under your divers seat. It is between the battery box and the center console. I believe you have a tow strap in the area. This is a part offered to the 2015-2017 Z800 models. I am wondering if it would fit in my Z6. It would be nice for storage.
Thanks
