Ever set something on the passanger seat and loose it
« on: August 01, 2017, 05:02:30 PM »
My seats were a bit shabby so I had them redone and added a backstop on the seats, I have set a few things on the passenger seat and have lost it, 2 weeks ago I stopped for a drink and left a pair of Ray Ban progressive sunglasses on the passenger seat, they slipped off of the seat and when I found them an hour later the lenses were scratched all to hell. I had the upholster wrap a piece of matching vinyl around the frame and staple to the plastic seat bottom to form a slight pocket now car keys, sunglasses, cell phone anything I might set there is somewhat secure.

Thanks guys glad you like it, I thought they came out well, the silver center is a bit metallic with a small checker pattern that really looks good. I don't know about the Z8 but with the large holes in the floor behind the seats of the Z6 this helps to keep things from hitting the ground, I'm going to work on those holes next month, mostly to keep dust and noise down.

Coloradocrawler, my upholster made a sleeve that he slid down over the top of the frame instead of using screws to hold the vinyl in place, this created a map pocket behind the seat that is a good place for a wallet or anything that you want to keep hidden, I thought about using a piece of ABS plastic but went with the vinyl to create a small belly in the front as well as the pocket in the back.
