Has anyone used water wetter to assist in cooling down engine?  Also I think the units come with a mixture of 50/50 water/antifreeze, and in the South I do not need the low end temperature protection so would running a higher percentage of water cool the engine better?

Stick with 50/50 as coolant also has a higher boiling point and aluminum anti-corrosion additives. You can go 60/40 but no more and always use distilled water...never tap water.
