What I find interesting is to see many of the workers standing around doing nothing...even on their cell phones. Not something I would have expected in a Chinese factory.

I'd imagine the leisure environment we see on videos are all staged and not how things really are when the cameras aren't present...JMO

Probably true. I know if I were the boss and I walked into my plant and saw that..there would either be some dismissals or replacements that very hour. There better be a machine coming off the end of that assembly line every 30 seconds..finished and headed to the shipping crate.
