Just wondering if anyone knows the run (spark) conditions for the CDI in an older carby model 500cc CF188 engine? I’ve got the 6 pin plug sorted - IE +12v, ground, trigger wires (tested with peak voltage tester), coil and “additional relay” that I’ve left disconnected.
The 9 pin plug I haven’t verified, from various wiring diagrams this plug covers things like gear position, front diff, headlights etc.. nothing that in my mind should affect spark. I don’t have, and can’t find, a wiring diagram for this machine - a Xinyang XY500GK. I’ve got it sparking (and running, but carb needs serious work) with a Kawasaki CDI so I know my basic inputs and coil are good.
But I’d love to get it working with the correct CDI so I can use orignal wiring. I have tried a brand new CDI, gives the same symptoms as the old one IE one spark per cranking session.
So, if anyone knows what these three wires in the 9 plug should be connected to or why I’m not getting speak I’d love to hear!
