I just brought a used Wildcat Trail home on Saturday after putting some serious thought into buying a leftover Zforce 800 EPS. I test rode one and loved it - I still say it has the best digital instrument cluster as well as looks among any of the 50" models. But the deal on the Catillac was just too good to pass up - it was an Ebay auction that I bid extra low and nobody bid on it after me - $6100 bid won it.
If you don't mind getting your hands greasy and working on your ride, a CF Moto is a solid ride. The issue is when you look for replacement parts that are better than OEM, such as bushings or bearings. Then you find that CF Moto has manufactured everything just a tiny bit larger or smaller than any others, so that you can't use some better Yamaha bushings or Polaris' Fox shocks on the CF Moto.
I like that I can pretty easily find OEM or much better aftermarket parts for my Cat - Arctic Cat is not known for quality bushings as well, so everyone now recommends AJ's for a bushing set for the Cat. Same with the suspension. The Fox shocks on mine are hampered by the crappy AC springs, and they will sag over time, which requires you to crank the preload on the springs to bring your ride height back to stock. Toss a set of Bandit springs on it and you never have to worry about it again.
I will really miss my bulletproof King Quad 700 - the SxS cannot possibly be as reliable as it was, but I'm 48 and can't do a 100+ mile ride on the ATV. I'd be willing to bet I can do it in the SxS a lot easier. The only problem is the huge money pit that a SxS can become. Don't le anyone tell you otherwise - it can be very pricey adding the hundreds of accessories to these things that they now offer.
Ohh, and lastly, welcome to the forum !! I'm interested in seeing which way you lean. Even though I didn't buy a CF Moto, I still love them for what they are, and we have a great group of owners/riders here in the forum to educate you on what you need to know if you buy one.
