They are going after Motorbikes to start with, but where does this stop?

If the North American market (mainly US and Canada) is large enough then CFMoto will put a factory in Mexico using NAFTA to bypass the restrictions.  The Chinese auto manufacturers are already doing this.  But it will be an interesting political/economic battle to watch in the years to come.

Can some lines redrawn here to the following?
1) At least one dealer has hinted that the next order date for anything will not be December (as all dealers have been claiming previous) but January. This would make sense if the news above (as nothing is a secret here in the U.S. anymore) was not news to CF.
2) Delivery of the Z10s not even hinted at until March or April of 2025. Why would CF promise anything sooner given this info beforehand?
3) The choice of Apple Play in the newest cars. Bottom line: Either the U.S. govt. will not admit that the former is corrupted (if it indeed is) and/or the Chinese chose this for the Z10 knowing full well that it would not be questioned in the first place. If they replace it this late in the release(?)...there's a bigger story out there involving a lot more than just a few CF products and/or Apple Play's choice for the Z10 in the first place.

This is where deeper/thoughtful conversations need to take place 'somewhere' involving at least the new cars. If you're not concerned about plopping everything down on CMOTO not only now but likely farther in to 2025 than what we're being told...stay on the conversational sidelines.
Yet as I've encouraged before; either the conversations needed to sort this all out over the coming many months takes place here or they happen somewhere else.
Pretty much the member's choice in terms of how much a $25K investment or less means to them both in the near and far term.

That Mexico production plant is either built or close to being given CFMOTO's delivery promises for the Z!0 alone. Announced late last year if I remember.
As I keep on saying, if we all have enough money to not worry about investments at this monetary level for our family's fun then we really don't need forums to keep up on whether these machines are good investments in the short or long term given today's manufacturing realities and political winds.

If the aftermarket doesn't receive reassurance soon that the Z10 or anything else planned for '25 is already good to go then not much will be put in to R&D/production in the meantime.
The above targeted action alone will obviously not be good for CF orders or sales now whether its all already been solved or not concerning 2025 models.
Perception is all that competitors were after here in even the short term and they got it.

This all reminds me of the fighting that took place back in the 60's over the building of the Trans Alaska Pipeline.  Many then, and probably many now, wanted to believe it was being pushed into construction by the "greedy oil companies".  But that wasn't true.  They didn't really get involved in the fight at all and their position was "the oil has been in the ground for millions of years.  It can stay there until the public demands that it be made available and pressure their elected leaders to change the rules and regulations so that can happen."  And that's pretty much exactly what happened.

The same sort of thing will happen with the Chinese imports of their products.  When the public here gets fed up with what is available to buy and the prices being asked for those products, they will demand changes.  With respect to ATVs and UTVs we're behind where the EU is right now as they can't import a lot of the different types of units that we can for now.  So maybe the public uprising on this issue will get started in the EU before coming to our shores.

In terms of positively affecting the pricing of these cars, I would agree that we have all the power save for our finding alternate suppliers for the parts (easier) and competently assembling them here (apparently very hard). 
Solving this single part issue shouldn't be a big deal save for the terrible publicity.
Yet what is coming to a head here is Mexico.
The rest of the world has apparently figured out that we cannot exist without our largest trading partner and that no significant tariffs on goods produced there will likely ever exist. How Trump would accomplish the opposite at least in the short term is beyond me.
CF just gambled a fair amount of change in Mexico.
Something tells me that those cars are going to roll off that assembly line as planned on time no matter who is elected next month.
I could be wrong yet China and Mexico have nothing to gain by fighting any of this and simply doing whatever the government wants.
We're all sick enough of paying these ridiculous prices for glorified golf carts.
CF just solved that problem with the Z10 and I just can't see anything stopping them save for a U.S. manufacturer somehow finding a part maker to partner with which would be who(?)...built where???

I don't do social media yet I can't imagine that CF would simply allow HUGELY negative rumors to fly around unabated both up here (their largest U.S. forum base?) nor on these social media owner's group platforms which may(?) house even more active participants interested in their products.
They obviously have major new products being launched from a brand new manufacturing facility headed for their largest potential market in the world.
Probably not the best time to be publicly shy in response to very public (major) threats designed to destroy that investment, imho.

What is even crazier regarding this topic, more than a week after the press release, is the few dealers that I have spoken with either claiming to not know anything about it, not apparently caring and/or being told that the article is partly not true not to mention easily fixed without modification save for a remote switch somewhere being turned off.
I just find it fascinating how businesses both large and small strategize nowadays on both sides of the manufacturer/distributor model whether it be franchises selling cups of coffee or others selling $23K cars with a 3 month (plus?) order freeze policy and a 6 month (plus?) 'hoped for' delivery date.

It appears its more of an R&D site than a production facility.

At any rate it would suck.
I've had a few issues with mine that except for the "power sports" affiliated markup have been pretty easily repaired at home using my manuals, information from this site, RNG and a few others.
But those issues routinely pop up in the Big Box brands and cost as much to fix, not to mention the initial cost of buying one of them. Seriously some of them (Polaris/Canam in particular) are half the price of what I paid for my home on a nearly five acre lot.
The fact that they come with a USABLE and useful winch alone if a big plus.
I've used mine a fair bit both working and self extacting.

I REALLY like the compartmentalized design of the engine as well.
I had to replace a broken oil pump gear and was dreading it, but it's been one of the easiest things I've worked on.
I don't really consider myself a 'mechanic' but I do have a fair degree of aptitude and have done quite a few major repairs on my vehicles over the years. rebuilt engines, manual transmissions, differentials, axles, and basically completely rewired my 74 ramcharger (Ill take my old 60s - 80s truck, please) and newer vehicles are a cluster$@!$ of over engineered redundancies and interlinked systems that make troubleshooting an absolute pain to resolve.

I hate to say it but with a little patience, my 800xc's are kinda fun to work on and I don't have to be a millionaire to be able to do so.

You're not the only one trying to piece together what's been happening here in the U.S./abroad as anything that I (cough) 'know' is second hand at best from what are fast becoming convoluted sources providing zero updates whatsoever no matter the significance of recent events.
