Blown Bearing?
« on: December 10, 2021, 01:39:40 AM »
Hey folks,
Purchased a 2022 CForce 800XC about a month ago.
Today I noticed grease in the right rear wheel hub which seems to be coming from the bearing!? I know a bearing can squeeze out extra grease sometimes, but this much on a new bike with 195 miles on it??

If there is no play in the wheel the seal could have just pushed out. Either way it need to be addressed. Your second picture looks to have a shiny metal piece in it that shouldn’t be there. I’d have it looked at.

Was it driven in water by chance?

At any rate, I would take the shaft out and inspect the bearing, and then re-lube or replace it depending on what I found.

Hell it's new...take it in! Historically the Chinese never "over-lubricate"..anything so if that is from the wheel bearing, it's lost a seal and should be covered.
