i have a 2016  z800 ex looking at putting 29" tires on it what is the best clutch setup for this combination not to worried about big top end mph.what tire would you reccommend that is not to heavy but somewhat aggressive?

you're on my route. I did 29 inch gbc dirt commanders after a bunch of research, I don't really do mud or I might have gone with mud lites. I am set on B2 with 23g dr pulley sliders, works good pulls harder than stock and I still get 66-67mph. I am around 1,000ft above sea level.

Yeah..I would think that would work pretty well.

have you had any issues with axles breaking?

also did you use stock wheels?if not can you tell me what wheel you used width and offset for both front and rear thanks i looked at the tire you used i want to get something a little more aggressive any ideas?

The dirt commander is more aggressive than it looks in pictures but go with what you feel like.  I chose them because they are 8 ply and still didn't weight toooo much. A lot of the 8 ply were a lot heavier than these.   unless you do a lot of mud or sand i highly recommend them.  I stayed with the stock wheels.  29x9 front 29x11 rear tires. I haven't broken anything.  I crawl through rocks and streams but i haven't gotten a ton of time on the stuff yet. These tires are quite loud on the road and vibrate due to the large lugs on the tires wouldn't recommend for a lot of road riding.

stock it is set at B1 I believe

Correct..B1 is the lowest setting and is what the factory uses.

I've had the GBC Dirt Tamers and the Maxxis Big Horn Radials. I can tell you from my experience that I absolutely loved the Maxxis Big Horn's. Not the 2.0 version. The regular version. You can run these at low pressure and they last and last and last. Ride really good, perform great on snow, hardpack and they are okay in the mud also. Best riding all-terrain tire in my opinion. I will be getting another set and YES they are worth the money.

My friends wolverine had the bighorn 2.0, they seemed to wear out quick and are not nearly as grippy as my dirt commanders. They have a little more side bite though.

Yup, the Big Horn 2.0 is a totally different tire compound. The regular Big Horns can run at really low PSI without damage and made my machine ride like it was on a cloud. Really nice tire.

I have my commanders at max PSI at the moment, I have kept them pumped up to get a good seat in the bead. I am going to drop the psi soon to 10 and see how they ride.
So the bighorns vs the dirt commanders 29x9x14 and 29x11x14
Bighorns are about 2lbs lighter per tire almost exactly
The Bighorns are 6 ply, vs the dirt commanders 8 ply (theres the weight diff)
