I am currently in the process of redoing the air intake I am going with something similar to what nmk has done. My question is  does anyone have a suggestion for a universal air box that I could mount on the pipe. I am removing the factory air box. Thanks

Take a look at Donaldson..I believe. They make some great air boxes. Probably have to mount it in the bed though. Another member did that and it worked out great.
