Knowing how we will ride and the distance of those rides, and...... being that my CForce 1000 is getting about 16 mpg, I knew I would need some more gas for more travel range.

So I ordered the 4 gallon tank and the hardware to mount.... and then I fabricated a couple of mount plates that would not interfere with the battery/fuse box.

For now, I am going to leave the Aluminum Plates as they are.  If I get adventurous, I might get them powder coated black.


The Aluminum Plate started off as a single piece, 11" x 22" and is 3/16" thick.  I wanted 1/4", but my supplier quit dealing in Aluminum and this piece was some leftover that I got for a great deal... $19.  I cut the Al Plate with a simple grinder with a 4.5" cut-off blade.




Here's my bolt setup.....  All the hardware is Stainless.






As I mentioned, I fab'ed the plates where I can pop off the gas tank and have instant access to the battery and fuses.

By the way, after mounting everything up, I did a 60 mile ride and it proved solid as a tank.

Maybe I am heavy on the throttle.

Also, this machine isn't broken in yet.  It doesn't even have 100 miles on it yet.  Hopefully the MPG will grow to over 20mpg.

Yeah most are reporting between 16 and 19. It will get a little better when she loosens-up.

So far so good... 90 mile/7 hour ride on rough stuff and the Rotopax mount is rock solid.
