2022 Zforce 800 Trail Turn Signals
« on: August 19, 2022, 12:44:38 PM »
I searched before posting, did not see any solutions.

2022 Zforce 800 Trail USA model - I purchased the factory turn signal switch, hazard switch & flasher unit from CFMotoUSAParts. I plugged everything in, wired in LED turn signal lights I bought on Amazon, but nothing works - key off, key on, machine running. There is power on both sides of the 10 amp fuse.

Wish I had a wiring diagram I could look at All I have is the older, USA version and as I recall, has nothing turn signal-related at all. Has to get power from somewhere. Does the flasher have power on it at any time?

I contacted CFMotoUSAParts about a wiring diagram, they claim CFMoto does not publish wiring schematics.  >:(

The brown/black wire to flasher has constant power with key on. Grey & Green wires to flasher no power. Both switches are getting power, as they light up when I turn the key on. The wiring to the switches also have a brown/black wire with constant power. I suspect the flasher may be defective.

I removed the hazard switch, tested turn signal switch on both harness connections, which have identical wiring. The switch still lights up, but no flashing.

I do know that the stock switch lighting circuit is separate from the lines and loads of the switches.. so having a switch light up isn't an indication that there is line power on the switch. And I assume all your turn single lights are grounded..and that the flasher is designed for the type of lights used..ie LEDs or incandescent.  Here is a simple and typical wiring diagram on the signal/hazard system. Maybe it will help tracing-out the problem.

From what I've seen the replacement rear tail light assemblies are supposed to be LED (I did not buy them), so the factory flasher should be for LED bulbs. The front turn signals I connected to the factory wiring, the rear I grounded to the frame, to minimize hacking into stock harness. I cut the orange wire on rear left, light blue on rear right to wire directly to LED's.

BTW I've watched a bunch of your youtube vids  :)

LEDs only light one way. Any chance that you wired them backwards?

I tested them on a 12 volt battery to make sure they work, yellow to positive, black to negative made them light up. When they didn't light after connecting on machine, I reversed them. Still nothing on any light.

This video may help, looks like he put flashers on his 800 prior to the 1000. Wiring should be the same.

Thanx! His signals worked without any lights connected to harness. Mine does not, so I'm inclined to suspect a defective flasher. The wiring harness are different, the switches / flasher are different part numbers from the Zforce, but the principle / process is the same.

*EDIT*  After I posted, I got turn / hazards working. I bought an aftermarket switch on Amazon that plugged into harness. Everything works. I plugged the factory flasher back in, everything works now... jeezzzz...   I would still like to know what the unknown plugs in the photos are for.

The red/green/purple capped plug looks like the diagnostic plug (k-line).
