2020 CForce 800 doubts
« on: August 22, 2021, 05:13:40 PM »
New to the Forums( lurked a lot before now) and am looking to get people's opinions on my machine. It's a 2020 CForce 800 and I really like the machine but Now I'm unsure of it. I put 180 ish miles on it last year. This year after winter storage took it in and had it's first service done and 60 miles later lost the engine. Didn't know about the air filter issues then. Dealer got it covered under warranty but did a less than stellar job installing it, put on a dirty throttle body and a really bent clamp holding the air filter housing to the throttle body. I'm now questioning the cleanliness of the oil cooler and lines since the dirt in the engine ate the crank bearings. I'm looking for opinions on keeping it vs taking the loss on trading it for something else. This is honestly the first time I've been through a major warranty on anything and I'm now gun-shy on even riding it. Any advice or opinions on it would be greatly appreciated.

JMO but loosing an engine at around 200 miles is a bit soon even for not changing the air filter...which would have been top on any one's list if asked what to do first...so there must have been something else...and by the way you described the engine install I wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't something done in that same shop. The 800 has most of it's bugs worked out of it so there should be no excuse. On the other question...yes, I also would be concerned of the entire oil cooler system didn't get completely flushed out. I would at least inspect everything and take an oil pressure read. If it was below normal at all...I would be looking at something else. Again..just my opinion.
