Winter Comes
« on: November 14, 2022, 10:18:28 AM »
Hey all, just a technical note when it comes to CVT operations in the snow as winter is upon us and snow started here in Minnesota.  Snow wheeling can be a ton of fun and deep snow roosts are awesome.  For CVT longevity, think of it as a high load, high torque application and the clutches are working really hard with not a lot of air flow so clutch temperature will be increased.  This can lead to early belt failure fir sure.  Make sure you are looking at your air ducting for ice over.  Thermal shock can also impact belt life, let your machine warm up the CVT before getting after it hardcore.  Noone wants to be stuck out in the snow trying to change out a belt!

Thanks and happy wheeling!
