The SxS forum has one of these threads so I thought I'd start one here.
So far I've had a bit of trouble with mine, some self inflicted, some defects. Let me give you a little bit of back story so as not to scare anyone away from these machines. I bought a 2014 model in the year 2016 and it had sat, so that contributes to some problems. I also don't have the most faith in the dealership I purchased from (out of state). I live in Vermont and my local dealer has gone above and beyond and with CFMoto they have supported EVERYTHING! I have nothing bad to say about CFMoto warranty or my local deal. So here's my "log". Another important fact is the first two trips I took involved a lot of mud and I pushed the machine hard, I wanted to make sure I liked my purchase.
20 Miles (new): Weird brake issue (see 80 mile issue below), rusted rear brake tube front brake reservoir fluid level sight fogged over. Display has a "dead spot"
- The dealer replaced all the parts related to the brakes and ordered a dash, they received the wrong dash twice. The dash is still pending repair.
70 Miles: Fan didn't come on, turned out to be a fuse. I suspect I blew the fuse due to the extreme mud on my first and 2nd ride.
80 Miles: Pulling hard to the left lost all brakes and calipers froze up.
- I pulled the front left caliper then cleaned and lubricated the pins, reported to dealer and they ordered a new caliper based on my word that it was bad.
95 Miles: After a 10 mile ride a loud popping noise from the front end.
- Dealer was test driving and the noise ended up being a lose pin inside that broke a hole in my front end. CFMoto sent the wrong part the first time so I had to wait a little over a week for the part to arrive. Dealer and CFMoto warranty replaced the entire front end. Dealer reported to me that the front end was a known issue and the part has been updated.
97 Miles: After the dealer replaced my front end they noticed that my rear caliper was the culprit of my earlier brake trouble and has been binding all along. Dealer removed rear caliper for me so I could ride. I caused my "dash / speedometer issue" trying to set time and switch from kp/h to mp/h
107 Miles: Did an oil change, oil looked good, no metal in oil.
I was able to put about 60 miles on it with the new front end and everything is running good.
165 Miles: Resolved my speedometer under reporting miles details: (
http://cfmoto-forum.com/cforce-800/dash-settings/) Returned to shop to get rear brake caliper installed. The wheeler is still at the shop for the weekend.
My only concern left is the CV Rattle noise (
http://cfmoto-forum.com/cforce-800/noise-from-cv-housing/). I'm going to capture a video next time I'm out. It may be a "normal" noise for the CFMoto or it may be a sign of more trouble to come. This noise has happened since day one and hasn't gotten worse or better.
Hopefully this is helpful to others.
