Hi all.
2019 800 xc
Started the quad for first time this season and decided to take it around the yard. Acceleration from take off is normal but will not go past 40kph. Tried high gear, low gear no change. Checked mechanical throttle limiter, normal. Checked UNI air filter, all good. It gets up to exactly 40kph and starts surging. No idea what's going on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Because it stops exactly at the same speed in either high or low range says it must be a speed related limiter not an RPM. What causes the speed to be limited on the Xc? On some models being in 4WD with the diff-loc on will. Could this be?

Initially was in 2WD. Tried cycling through all selections with no change. I guess I'm going to have to take it in and see if they can figure it out.

I did some more testing. When I select 4WD low gear there is no speed limitation. When I select 4WD high or 2WD high or low, the speed is limited back to 40kph.

That is strange. So High range only and no matter if in or out of 4wd. Is there any other indicator on in the dash like a belt or engine service reminder?

No abnormal indication on display. There is less than 40 hours on the quad and has been garage kept with comparatively tame riding. I disconnected the battery in hopes of resetting the ECU. Will connect it back today to see if that makes any difference.
