Fuel level gauge reading inaccurate
« on: March 21, 2024, 10:33:38 PM »
Hey guys, I've got plenty of fuel in my tank, maybe half empty, but my dash gauge level bounces between flashing empty and one bar depending on terrain angle I'm on. Any ideas? I'm think tank sending unit float arm may need adjusted if that's even possible. Thanks!

It's likely the tank float needs adjustment. It's also possible the unit is failing and some of the windings are not making contact.. but angle will always effect the readout. Need to park it on a level surface and take a reading. Then measure the balance of the fuel in the tank by siphoning it out and measuring. If it's close, I would leave it alone but if way off I would pull the unit and see if there is any way to adjust the float..it may not be adjustable.
