I recently own a CFMoto x5 and I have a problem which is the following
- Reverse gear R is not engaged
-at repeated attempts sometimes turns on R, but as I give more power and turns off.
I tried to adjust the gear lever, but without success.
any suggestions where the problem comes from?

Try removing the linkage completely and putting it in R by hand. If it won't stay it means there is a problem in the transmission like a bent shifter fork. If it does stay it means the engine is moving when power is applied because of an engine mount problem.

I completely removed the lever and tried to switch manually but the problem remained the same.
Apparently the problem is really in the switch fork.

It's possible a gear is damaged but it more common for a shifter fork to get bent or damaged. Happens when power is applied while not completely engaged and pops out or placed in a gear while still moving. There are other causes but those are the most common. In any case, she must come apart. Sorry. In the meantime pull the shift shaft cover (Make sure the shaft stays in place) and barrow detent and check that all these parts are OK first.
