I have a 2017 800 trail with 1400 trouble free miles on it. I pulled it out the garage today wash it. Got in put my seatbelt on and the light still flashes and thus limits me to 17 mph....I have tried snapping the belt shut multiple times and the light still flashes. What do I do????

Try to flush the latch mechanism of all dirt and debris and then let dry to see if that frees up the switch.

Or

You can cut the wires from seat belt latch.

Or

You could disconnect the wiring but that requires removing the plastics. Doing so would give you access to the bolts that hold the latch to the machine, and perhaps then you could remove the latch, disassemble and possibly repair.  If that fails you could leave it disconnected until a replacement part arrives.

If I simply cut the wire going into the latch, will that do it? Would that cause any side affects or issues to look out for?

It will break the circuit just as if the buckle was latched in. It basically disables the safety so be sure that is what you want.

Though some years the circuit was opposite, in which case you twist the wires together and clamp.

If the indicator goes out after you cut the wire, you're all set.
