Has anyone swapped out the 800 for a 1000?
I blew the shat out of my 800 I scored a full chassis with a 1000 motor in it. I am going to try to put the 1000 into my 800 frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm going to follow this closely cause I was thinking of just getting a crate 1000 motor for mine if I lost this 800. From what I see...probably won't take much.

I will post as I go.

So far the motor mounts are the same.
The exhaust is routed differently. I want to use the 800 exhaust as I have RJWC mud pro muffler.
The emergency brake is different it works on the brake calipers not to the driveshaft.
The ecm plug looks as if it's the same.
You will need a new primary clutch as it is completely different

Will you please take photos as you go?  I would guess there are a lot of people who have though about doing this if their engine was to blow. lol  The 800 is nice, but a little more power wold make it "moe betta".  Thanks

Ok. Sorry it's been a bit. Life happens.
So I had to use the intake from the 800 because the wiring harness from the 1000 was missing a pile of connectors. Going to try to start it tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

It was a theft recovery. Got it threw a friend of a friend.

Ok. Exhaust works with a little persuasion.
Motor bolts in and hooked up to the same drivetrain. Didn't have to change the e-brake.
Found a new clutch from Arlin @ cfmotowharehouse.com. Thanks for the help Arlin.
Got the clutch cover from my local Cfmoto dealer.
Same belt as the 800.
It turned over and sputtered.
Then..........she she started! 
Need to do a bit of fine tuning to get it to run properly I think from it sitting might need to get cleaned out.
I'll play more tomorrow and see if I can make it run proper.
I also want to hook up my programmer from the 800. I was told it will work

I had to use the injectors and intake from the 800. Cause I didn't want to cut up my wiring harness. But yes. It will work.

Would love to hear a summary and see pics.  I'm considering putting a 1000 crate engine into my 800 and want to be sure I've considered everything and have all of the necessary parts.
