Stock tire and rim
« on: May 18, 2017, 07:55:47 AM »
I'm looking to buy a spare tire and rim for peace at mind on the trail. I feel I've been pushing my luck to much by not having one. I got plugs and stuff for small problems but if I were to ever blow a bead I'd be in trouble. But I'm striking out on find a front tire and rim that's mounted already anyone have a parts number or something for that?

You can look it up and buy on Alpha-Sports.com but "in my opinion", the extra weight for that piece of mind is questionable. For my piece of mind I went with some tough 8-ply radials and dropped a small 12V-high volume compressor among with a plug & patch kit under the hood....and a small scissor jack in the rear trunk. I did pop two beads once and had 4 of those CO2 cartridges. Was enough for one tire but not the other...that's why the compressor.   Of course this may not be the best option if you do a lot of mud riding. Probably a spare would be better but...a great set of tough 8 or 10 ply tires is always a good idea over the stock 2-ply even though they are a 6-ply rated tire.
