Hi All,

The driver's side seat belt stopped cooperating this weekend, and upon disassembly, I found some broken plastic bits that are responsible for the failure.  Alpha-Sports wants $150 bucks for the drivers side; not happening.

This is a 2017 USA Zforce 800 with 3 point belts.

I never liked these seat belts as they have always been problematic. I'm almost happy they broke :-)

So, I'm looking for advice from those that have replaced their seatbelts.

What did you buy, how was the installation, how do they perform, and pictures if you have them.

Aftermarket? Pulled from a salvage yard? etc ...

I just wend with a set of the cheapie 4-point from SATV. Pretty easy to install. The only pain is getting them to stay put on the bar behind the seat as you just buckle it to it. I used clamps to stop mine from sliding. For a while I kept the old 3-points in with them but later on I removed them and just ran the SATV's. Overall pretty good quality and reliability. Wife got tired if hers and had me put the OE 3-point back in on her side. I catch myself not using them myself cause most of the trails I ride lately are pretty tame. some pics:

With these the two upper straps are stitched into the one that raps the tube...like a "Y"..kinda thing. They give you a mount to bolt it to a mount...but CFM doesn't provide anything on the USA models. If one was good, you could weld one on. I tried to use a bar clamp but it was a problem with the seat and the rear windshield and it put the straps in the wrong position...for me.

Where did you bolt the inside strap to? The same bolt as the seatbelt bracket? Or Someplace else?

Thinking I may have to make a bracket, but thought I'd ask first.

I used the same bracket...but I have a faint memory of having to do something with the OE bolt..maybe getting it out. Anyway when I put the OE belt back in on the passenger side, it was just an "L" bracket.

A simple solution. Drill a hole in the existing bracket and use that as the attach point. The steel is plenty thick enough for this.

I like the color, and they look good, but ....

Now that I've had a chance to try them on, I'm not sure I care for this style. Very restrictive and lots of loose belt floating around. Maybe it just takes time to figure out the right adjustments and get used to them. But, having to change them for another driver and back would be annoying.

Yeah the tough part is getting them right for you first. It took me a while and some looking around to see that the padded areas of the upper straps have to go over the shoulders and the upper buckle is just a couple inches under the chin. When I wear mine, I leave it pretty loose so I can reach stuff and not be so chaffed-up after a run on rocks. I also was able to cut the extra off and burn the ends after I was sure I would never need any more. Left a little just to make sure though. Like the color too.

Seeing your fixed bolt reminded me that I did grind off the back to remove the bolt and open-up that hole. For a while I rigged it so I had both.

The next step is to fashion some sort of protective cover for lower mount.

What a completely stupid place to leave a hole in the plastic that allowed the seatbelt tensioner to be continually assaulted by debris from the rear tire. No wonder the thing was always fidgety.

I cut some chunks of memory foam and stuffed it in there then shop some black spray paint over the top. The back side gets wet from the tire but..who cares...lol  I also stuffed foam in around the other side at the console and painted them too. Stops more heat, noise and some dust too.
