Remove fenders and push pins to fix 4WD switch?
« on: October 05, 2023, 06:23:05 PM »
Good evening - my 4WD drive switch is broken the red button broke off when I snagged it with a towel, and I want to replace the switch. I have ordered a replacement switch but I am struggling to see how I will remove the current one … I tried removing the hood and storage under it but that seems too far … it feels, but I. Am not sure if I pull 7 push pins and remove the black portion of the left front fender/panel I should be able to reach it.

I am posting this also in the ZForce 500 forum, this is a 2021 Zforce 500 Trail … any tips on reaching that switch are appreciated
Love skiing (water and snow), boats, SxS and just being an aging child.

Wish I knew. My slider sticks and locks sometimes but I have been able to free it and keep a little lube in it for a while. Far as I know its a copy of this Yamaha switch with two mounting screws. The one probably get to from the front but not the others. I had that panel off you are talking about...don't remember if I could see the switch from there or not. Its in this video I made on deleting the reverse limiter. Lets watch it and see if the camera caught anything.

Yeah..not a great shot but looks like it is easy to get to from there.
