Pulling stator on 2017 ZForce 800EX
« on: March 09, 2020, 08:11:08 AM »
What have people used to pull the stator on a 2017 ZForce 800EX. I looked at the service manual ( which looks like it was back in 2015) and it references to a 40mm puller but I have seen other people say the stator measures 42mm and there is a stator puller available for the 800 in both 40mm and 42mm. Its so confusing. I saw a topic from 2018 but nobody said what the outcome was. Somebody also mentioned using a bolt puller to pull it. Anybody got any ideas?

Forgot to mention the tool is 70 to 80 dollars so I want to make sure to get the right one

From experience and from others, its best to use the correct puller to avoid other problems and damage. The puller measurement refers to the size of the threads it screws onto inside the rotor so...a caliper with a jaw long enough that can measure millimeters would answer the question.
