Putting a plow with a 60 inch blade on my 800 trail. Should I run a second battery due to all the winch work?

Probably not a bad idea but remember, your wench will take out 2 to 3 time more power from your battery then your charging system can put back in. An extra battery will give you more reserve but will take longer to fully charge back up. Think of it like a 5 gallon bucket with a garden hose on about 1/2 way filling it from the top and a 2" ball valve to drain it at the bottom. Every time you kick on the wench it's like you open that 2" ball valve...and shut it. In about 50 seconds you can drain your bucket (battery). You can add another 5 gallon bucket...but that garden hose hasn't changed and now has to fill two buckets. Also, wench motors have to cool off between uses. Rule of thumb if you want the wench to last at all is..30 seconds on..followed by 2 minutes off. This 2 minutes between uses won't be enough time to re-fill your bucket(s) but will be a good start. One other thing- don't assume the batteries are fully charged when you park it..they are not. Rig a battery tender on it and leave it on. Always start off with a full charge and when you feel the wench starting to slow or if you have a volt meter and it starts to drop between uses, give it some time to..refill your buckets :) Best stator output is above 3200 RPMs.
