oil filter

what brand of oil filter is everyone using and where did you order it from? I cross referenced the k&n part number for the zforce and these are the options that came up:

 Aprilia AP0256187       Bombardier 420256188        Can-Am 420256188

Anyone ever try any of these or just stay with stock one?

People are using the ones for the Rotax 800s but there are some slight differences that stop me from risking it...ie the fit to the nipple and the seal to the filter can may be such that some by-passing is possible...and it only takes a piece of trash less then the size of a grain of sand to waste a rod bearing so..I always just use the CFM filter. Here's some measurements I took a while back.

What ever happpened with the spin on filter? A friend put one on his 1000 a while back after talking with the folks that sell the adaptor. Too soon to tell  if there are any ill effects.

As I racall, I believe after all the talks and measurements I and others took, that it should work fine as is. But there was one possible issue that using the rubber seal off a CFM oil filter on the adapter would cure. I never went ant farther cause when I order stuff from Alpha-Sports, to make up the minimum order I always tossed in an extra oil filter..so a had a few on the shelf. But, I'm down to a HiFlow and a K&N I bought for measurements and will probably not use them so..maybe a spin-on adapter is in my future. :)

From your post on FB all you needed was the rubber off..any filter for a Rotax 800.. not the CFM oil filter as it fit too loose. We'll give it a little time to make sure all is well but... it looks like it's a go people :)
