My new 2021 Zforce 800 Trail Low Oil Pressure
« on: July 03, 2021, 12:18:40 PM »
Well... Straight away the low oil pressure light started flashing up to around 1300-1500 rpm, cold or at running temp.
I contacted dealer immediately.
It is now in their hands, and I'll know something by next week.

1. Faulty oil pressure sender?
2. Pressure relief valve stuck open?
3. Oil pick screen plugged? (why?)
4. Incorrect engine assembly, rod and/or main bearing issues?

Seems to be a common problem these days. Would be interested as to the cause as well.

The only way to know is to put a pressure gauge on it and get an actual reading instead of an idiot light that tells you next to nothing.

Update:
My oil pressure at idle was @ 5psi at best.
I took it back to my dealer a week ago.
After only 4 work days, CFMOTO authorized my dealer to replace the entire motor.
I'm very impressed at how fast they are taking care of this for me!

Sad about the low oil pressure. They have had far too many of those the past two years. Good that they are replacing the engine. That's the way it should be. Never know for sure what damage has occurred because of that low pressure.

Yes, I am pleased with their timely response and their decision to replace the engine. My background is marine engines mainly diesel but I know gas too, and I detected rod, and/or main bearing knock.
I am looking forward to receiving my machine back as we have plans to be in Capital Reef, and Moab for the month of October.
