My 2017 zforce ex 800 use to have the engine brake, it worked fine until I had to get towed
Once I got it running again (I had an electrical issue) it would only have the engine brake at higher rpm, even in low gear... when it kicks out of the engine braking range which is about 2500rpm it begins to clatter like its trying to go into gear but just won't unless I give more rpm and have my foot in the brake to keep the speed down while going down hill

I have stopped on a hill and it just wants to roll, it won't stay stopped

I'm not sure where to look to find the problem, could it be the wet clutch?

Thanks guys

Towing it you probably left it in gear which spun the CVTs and forced the oneway clutch..ie overriding clutch to engage and tear itself apart or just ground-down the sprags to have flat spots. Just replace the oneway bearing aka overriding clutch and any other effected contact parts. A bit of a tear-down task but..oh-well. that's life. This is it in the diagram below.

When we towed it I did put it in neutral, but the 4x4 was still locked in, with what your saying, I really hope that can be done w/o pulling the engine, I will check out your videos and come up with a game plan

Thank you very much

That won't matter being in 4wd as long as the drive train's rotations don't transfer through the clutches...which they won't in neutral. You can do a simple test of the oneway. Just pull the belt cover. put it in neutral, then spin the primary. It should spin counter-clock wise but lock going clockwise. If it does, then your problem is most likely a belt or CVT clutch issue and not the overriding clutch/oneway.

I have 3200 mile on the original belt, it's time to replace it, if for nothing else, to ensure I can get back with it
