Fuse blowing
« on: July 12, 2017, 08:05:10 PM »
Twice now when I started up the 800, With the lights on the display and the lights go out. I replace fuse and the display comes back on and the lights work. I went 300 miles (3 weeks) then it blew again last weekend.Replaced fuse everything works.  Hard to fix when it doesn't stay shorted???? Anyone have this issue?

I hate electrical problems. Look for rubbing wires or a loose connection. Sorry to say it, but the hunt is on.

Yeah..although I have not had that I have found some connectors that fit loose enough to cause a poor connection...enough to make heat and if it can do that, it can blow a fuse. It also can be something pulling too many amps like a bad starter solenoid or just a bad connection on it. Like Cosmo says...the hunt is on. Fortunately you know it's on that circuit that blows that same fuse....and you know its starter activation-related so..shouldn't be too bad. Start at the solenoid and work back.
