I was out on a run today, the Zforce 800 has 3000 km on it.

About 2 hour into the run the engine stalled when I let off the gas going over some rough terrain in low, started the engine and it would not idle and died within a second. Started the engine with the machine in low an as soon as the engine fired up gave it some gas and was off and running. From then on anytime I came to a stop or coasted the machine the engine would stall and not idle on start up. For the next hour of driving I had to restart about a half dozen times in gear giving it gas as soon as it fired up, once running and keeping the gas peddle on, it ran great, no engine light on or anything from the display to indicate a problem.

Once back at the camp it stalled as soon as I stopped. The machine sat for about 20 minutes before heading home, turned the key on, fuel pump came on and let it pressurize and then started the machine, started an idle normal and didn't have any further problems during the hour drive back, ran like it always has.

Any though?

Reminds me of what happens when some get either water in the tank or water in the fuel filter. It's also a sign of tight valves or low compression.

Interesting, I was down to one bar on the fuel gauge when this started, also the machine did have its valves adjusted by the dealer a few weeks ago with this being  the first long trip since the valves adjustment. Will keep this in mind should this occur again. Thanks!

I might be tempted to check them...especially if it started this after getting hot.. because too tight makes them leak...and leaking valves burn their seats. That's not something that can be fixed with an adjustment later..it's something only a valve job can fix.

The brain has had a little time to think (an about all feedback) what I was doing just prior to the stalling. The machine had been turned off for about 10 minutes, then I started up a steep incline and stopped on the incline (idling) waiting for my brother who took a good 2-4 minutes to finally get on the go and follow. It was at this time when I gave it gas to go the stalling started.

So I am guessing with the low fuel air and if there was some condensation in the fuel tank could have been picked up at this time.

There is a Yamaha mechanic who works from home off hours I have used when I had my Grizzly, I can get to check the values for me.
