Has anyone else experienced having the symptoms of a flat battery when hot and perfect starting when cold, I'm going to remove and strip the starter again for a clean

I thought I would start with the battery, it's reading 12.94v on my meter I take it that means the battery's ok ?

Just sitting there not running that's normal. Now put your tester on it and crank it. What does it get pulled down to and after running what is the reading?

Cranking 10.75v
Running  14.33v

Well, the charging system is fine but falling below 11 volts while cranking has me worried a bit about the battery. If it's still starting fine I wouldn't worry about it.

Cold starting is normal but when hot she won't start just like she has a flat battery, wait 1/2 hour for her to cool down she starts great again.
I have found that the solenoid connections were loose so they've been cleaned and retightened but it hasn't mad any difference to the voltage drop.
Earth point on the chassis has been cleaned as have both battery terminals.
I've had trouble with the starter before, I had to clean the commentator bars they were covered in a black layer which looked like dust from the brushes and the positive connection on the starter was rusty and cleaned and has been ok.

I think I'm going to give her a run in a bit until she's up to temp and then retest the battery

I don't know what the term "flat" battery means. When you crank it when hot is it cranking slower than when it is cold?  If it cranks at the same speed it would lead me to believe you may have a valve issue depending on the age. I had a machine that would start great in cold, would not start hot, when it got hot and things expanded there was took much play in the valves so it was getting leak down and not getting full compression when it was hot. If it is a cranking issue like slow crank possible the starter is getting hot and expanding creating a dead spot in winding or armature, bad coil can do the same when hot, expand and if there is a break in the winding produce weak or no spark. Just ideas, there are lots of things that can contribute unfortunately. Hot start issues are weird

How about the main engine ground? The one that's on the front belt cover bolt? The rest makes me think there is something with the starter or some connection as heat is effecting it. Some have reported solenoid activation voltage issues.

Flat battery = starter just engages but hasn't enough power to turn the engine over (she's just turned 2 with 4300 miles)

I have checked the earth on the cvt cover and it seems to be fine, I think I have a new solenoid in the tool box.
I'm going to run her and test the battery again, if the battery's good I'll try the new solenoid, I suppose if that's doesn't work a new starter maybe on the cards

sounds like starter. I don't know how they are set up so not sure if this is possible but I would get it to happen, then jump directly to the starter. If it then cranks your starter is good and its wiring or solenoid issue.

She seems to be fixed, the not starting when hot threw me of track a bit, I would have thought the loose connection would have made it difficult to start when cold as that's when more energy is needed.
