I have a cable lube thingy, do I have to disconnect one end of the throttle cable as I don't seem to have enough room to fit it with the cable attached ?

Most often you do have to take one end loose.

Yes, just go for the end that is easy to get at.

And remember to apply it until it comes out the other end. You can loosely place a rag around it to catch it.
