« on: July 28, 2015, 12:52:04 AM »
Does anyone know where to buy specialty clutch springs and other parts for these?

Read my Z6 tread on issues. The primary uses rollers. The secondary should be a CV-TEC made in Canada. They have good info on their website. rollers just mesure them they will mesure a bit smaller .5mm than what you need to order. OD and width Weigh them all and then divide by how many you have. That will get your stock weight.  The wildcat 1000 uses the same clutch setup. Look at what they are doing and you might get an idea how you want to proceed.

Truthfully , the Z8 is pretty solid out of the box. Not much that can really be changed for better power transfer.
Primary is a chinese cvt , simple rollers in it, can change weights to change your engagement speed and clamp force.
Secondary is a CVT-Tech clutch, Again not much you can do in this department, it's setup pretty clean from factory.
I move from B-1 to B-2 for I bit more backshift, slower upshift.

Yeah..tell us more about this B1 &2. From my CVT experience, and because I want to increase the tire weight & mass, I need to go to a stiffer/stronger secondary spring to adjust for the load. I think it needs it now anyway as is for my terrain needs. It needs more hold on shiftout and be in a higher RPM range so I can be better in the power band.

remove your secondary (driven clutch) you will see spring end holes, marked 1234 and ABCD, changing spring placement effects your shiftout

Bpraim, how did that setting work for you? On my z8 I only saw 3 on the clutch base-AB&C and 4 on the cap, 1,2 3 &4. I went with what you said-B/2. I tried B/4 but that seems way too tight.
